SunCatcher Fusion 324 RC Pontoon Boat Review

Join Boat Trader and professional boat reviewer Lenny Rudow for a full walkthrough of the SunCatcher “Fusion Series” 324 RC pontoon boat. This is a vessel built by G3 boats who is known for their well-known family of premium aluminum boats.

Overall Layout

The first thing to note is the sheer size of this bodacious boat. She is not your average pontoon and is built over a tritoon design featuring three separate pontoon tubes. That means she can take more power on her transom and handle rougher seas than many pontoons are able to withstand. Constructed of rigid, sturdy and thick materials – not cheap and flimsy stuff – this boat is durable enough to last for many years under heavy use. Beneath the deck the SunCatcher 324 has an aluminum skin that runs all the way down between the tubes.

Bow Area

Her bow entertainment area includes a wrap-around furniture group with a standard table and many optional flooring choices. There are removable arm rests with cup holders throughout, and vented-storage compartments under the seats that allow for air circulation which helps prevent dampness, odor, mildew and mold from forming onboard.

Courtesy lights at the base of the seats make walking around at night easy and safe. Integrated speakers pump high-fidelity sound from the bow back to the stern giving her true “party-barge” capabilities. Dual couches on both the bow and stern along with twin captain’s chairs make for a large capacity and versatile layout.

At The Helm

At the helm is a custom console with high-quality gauges and Simrad electronics along with a sport-style steering wheel with tilt adds to the premium look of the command center. Controls are laid out intuitively and there’s plenty of room for extras – including a Jensen marine stereo receiver with bluetooth and a modern dual USB charging port. The high back captain’s armchairs also recline and swivels adding to their versatility.

The 324 RC Fusion we checked out was rigged with a 200 HP yamaha outboard on her transom, which means she can reach speeds of over 40 MPH.

Mid Cockpit and Aft Deck

The 324 RS Fusion features a pop-up changing station and an in-deck ski locker in the center of the boat. The rear seating arrangement features large port and starboard stern loungers with extra-large storage areas below, accessed via easy to lift hinged-cushions, that are capable of storing large, bulky items.

Transom Features

An optional stainless steel ladder on the transom makes boarding easier from the water. Other nice touches include stainless steel stern and bow gates, LED docking lights and RGB floor lighting.

Overall, this is a big pontoon boat ideal for the whole family that offers some serious performance specs as well.
