Scout 215 XSF Center Console Walkthrough Review

Join Boat Trader and boat reviewer Lenny Rudow for a quick walkthrough review of the Scout 215 XSF center console boat. Rudow points out the boat’s key features and what makes her unique in her class.

Hull Design

Built on top of Scout’s fuel-saving NuV3 hull design the 215 XSF center console offers ample standard amenities for everything from serious fishing to comfort cruising. Featuring 100% hand-laid fiberglass this center console boasts a comfortable yet easily trailerable beam of 8’6”.

In The Bow

“As you look at all those different listings, for all those different 21-foot center consoles out there – just remember you’re not going to find one with a lounger like this up in front of the console,” says Rudow.

Anglers looking for a fishable, compact 21-foot center console boat with a comfortable bow area for entertaining – similar to those found on larger 23-foot plus boats – are in for a treat with the Scout 215 XSF. This vessel features a glorious cushioned sun lounger forward of the console with a big fish box coffin underneath. True to form, Lenny Rudow pulls his signature move and illustrates the sheer volume of this compartment by stepping inside of it himself.

An optional removable, stylish teak bow table lets you enjoy drinks or a meal with family and friends in the front of the vessel. This table can also be removed for stowage to keep it out of the way when underway or to increase deck space for casting from the bow when fishing.

At The Helm

Some of the things that helps separate the 215 XSF from other 21-foot center consoles on the market in this price range are features such as sturdy footrests at the helm, premium leaning posts and plenty of extra room at the controls for optional electronics. Owners can choose between an aluminum T-top or a powder-coated aluminum T-Top – or upgrade to a powder-coated hardtop with aft-spreader light.

Aft Deck And Transom

Back in the aft deck, there’s a cooler under the leaning post and on the port side of the transom is a nice livewell with integrated transom rod holders. A folding transom stern seat comes down for additional seating options or stows away for added deck space when casting.
