Join Boat Trader and reviewer Marilyn DeMartini in Fort Pierce Florida for a full walkthrough video review of a 2021 Pursuit 428 Sport in the video below.

Vessel Overview

This is Pursuit’s Flagship model – a serious performance center console with a massive aft deck, set up for fishing, but that also doubles as a plush, luxury cruiser as well. She combines fishing with versatile entertainment options and a nicely appointed interior cabin in a snazzy, seaworthy package that will satisfy not only the anglers in the group, but the whole family.

Not only is the S 428 the largest Pursuit that company has ever built, but it’s also the most spacious – and the most powerful. Her quad Yamaha 425 XTO outboard engines provide 1,700 horsepower giving her a top speed somewhere around 60 MPH and an easy cruising speed of 37 MPH at 4,000 RPMS. The Pursuit S 428 Sport also has an impressive range from her generous fuel capacity of 547 gallons.

Aft Deck

She has a huge aft deck ready for fishing and which Pursuit boasts in the largest in her class, plus two hull side doors for easily pulling in big game catches. She has ample rod holders, tackle storage fishboxes and bait prep areas for some serious fishing. Plus she features dual 36-gallon lighted transom livewells, an extra large refrigerator and freezer boxes. There’s even an electrohydraulic beach platform for easy access to the water for swimmers, water lovers and exciting water sports.

One of the highlights of the aft deck is just behind the console where Pursuit has provided an innovative, electronically-actuated, plush mezzanine seating module that actually rolls back to provide an extra row of seating and additional storage space.

At the helm captains will find a molded fiberglass “aft-tilting” helm control station with full instrumentation and fold-out fiberglass footrest and safety lanyard. At the controls are a Yamaha Command Link Plus Display with optional Garmin electronics and standard bow thrusters ns joystick control. Premium upholstery, a stainless steel steering wheel with control knob, JL Audio media master full function display and blue LED lighting spruce up the main control station.

Interior Cabin

In the cabin is an accommodating forward berth with a 5″ foam cushion and filler. An overhead skylight lets in the natural air from above. There is tasteful custom solid wood veneers on the interior cabinetry and wood table with removable settee backrests. A starboard side head with Corian countertops and sink plus a full shower make the boat a truly capable weekender.

Bow Area

Moving up to the bow is easy thanks to solid bow to mid-ship grab rails and wide passageways. The bow has fiberglass tables with removable bases and designated stowage. Her molded forward bow seating has insulated storage below along with electric-actuating hinged backrests. A large sunpad chaise in the bow fits two adults and also has adjustable back rests.
