Celebrity Yachts: Conor McGregor’s $3.6M Lamborghini Yacht

Conor McGregor is renowned for his lightning-fast responses and agility, both key characteristics that he sought out in first boat too. McGregor’s vessel is a extravagant, ultra-sleek, luxury yacht designed by Tecnomar for Lamborghini, aptly known as the “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63”. Would you expect anything less than an on-the-water Lambo for the man who was ranked the world’s highest paid athlete by Forbes in 2021, earning a reported $180 million? Let’s take a look at McGregor’s yacht and what makes it so special.

Lamborghini’s Rocket Ship Motoryacht

The Lamborghini 63 is Lamborghini’s first foray in the marine industry. Manufactured in partnership between Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group, the Tecnomar 63 is to make a floating Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision.” There were only 63 limited editions made, each measuring 63 feet in length.

Part of the reason she is fast, twin motors, constructed in carbon fiber, making her lightweight but also her reaching a top speed of 69 miles per hour and boasts 4,000 horsepower. McGregor refers to his yacht as a ‘rocketship’.

“We are proud to see the essence of Lamborghini DNA that today sets out to sail the sea with the same attitude of our super sports cars that race across the asphalt. This yacht is proof that the shared values and perfect synergy of the two teams are the key for executing excellent projects” said Stefano Rutigliano, Strategy Director of Automobili Lamborghini.

Supercar Inspired Yacht Design

Lamborghini cars are typically constructed using carbon fiber which is used for its ultralight qualities. The Lamborghini 63 yacht applied to the same methodology to keep her weight under 24 tons, increasing her speed efficiency in the water. Her contoured hull and Herculean lines are reminiscent of a Lamborghini’s Sián FKP 37 bodywork. Other key signature features that are a nod to the FKP 37 include Y-shaped, hexagonal shapes, and the boat even has a similar steering wheel, separate start and stop buttons.

Tecnomar takes its design inspiration from the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. The bow lights replicate the Y-shaped headlights of the FKP 37 and the Y-motif continues throughout the boat’s interior, exterior and onto the aft swim step’s inlaid teak design. In fact, if you spend just a minute looking, you’ll soon see the Ys everywhere from the exterior side bow to the supporting struts of the hardtop. Channeling the car that was its inspiration, the boat even has a similar steering wheel, separate start and stop buttons, and “tail lights” that mimic a Lambo speeding away.

McGregor has a penchant for adrenaline-fueled pursuits. He is a huge fan of supercars, is reputed to own four Lambo’s as part of his extensive car collection, including an Aventador and a Urus. Conor McGregor received the 12th edition of the fleet to be launched- a tribute to his whiskey, Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey. In true McGregor style, he announced to the world on Instagram, “My Lamborghini yacht is ready.”

Supercars have been around since the 1960s and they have many aficionados so it’s no surprise that the genre took to the water to create superboats. Numerous carmakers have already dipped their tire in the water including Aston Martin, Porsche and Lexus. Naturally, it could be expected that Lamborghini (that knows their market well) would decide to leverage their brand and dive in, giving their road patrons something new to aspire to.

Propulsion System And Top Speed

As mention above, the yacht is powered by twin V12 MAN inboard diesel engines with a whopping combined 4,000 horsepower. Although her 60 knots top speed misses the “63 connection” by just the tiniest bit we’re still impressed. Plus, those numbers also mean she is the fastest boat in the current Tecnomar lineup of yachts made thanks in part to the extensive use of carbon fiber in her construction.

Cost

The model costs 3 million Euros, or approximately 3.4 million U.S. dollars. Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision.”
