Hull Design

Her extended v-plane hull gives her more running surface coupled with tight aft hull corners that help deliver excellent turns and gives her an overall sports-car-like feel behind the wheel. A forward keel that is designed to cut through the water helps deliver quick acceleration (optional power packages noted below) and deliver a smooth ride.

Cockpit Design And Standard Features

The cockpit on the 287 SSX features an integrated cockpit drainage system, stainless steel hardware, stain-resistant upholstery and custom hand wrapped helm consoles. The 287 SSX comes standard with an enclosed fiberglass head compartment that you can outfit with an optional electric head with overboard discharge, or a pump-out Porta-Pottie. Cockpit LED lighting is also standard on the Chapparal making for great ambiance onboard. Stainless steel drink holder grab handles and bow rails offer stylish safe support when moving around.

Bow Area

Bow cushions are hinged with storage underneath and there is an insulated bow chest standard on this boat, which is a great feature for keeping those drinks cold when you’re out there cruising with friends and family.

At The Helm

The helm of the 287 SSX is a modern affair. With a glass dashboard and dual display system featuring twin 7″ touch screen Simrads and well-marked push button controls she will be easy to operate for most captains. Touchscreen control of sonar, radar, autopilot and accessories are integrated along with industry-standard connectivity to engines, sound systems and automatic routing support, plus easy trip planning with TripIntel. Seating at the helm for both captain and co-pilot is comprised of nice bucket seats with a cooler underneath and the captain will enjoy a custom leather steering wheel with a protective cover.

Aft Deck

Aft bench seating with reversible backrest system that manually converts from double bench to a sun lounger on the transom is a standard, defining feature of this boat.
