I appreciate your Blog and website. We are looking to purchase our first boat, specifically looking at pontoon boats since we are just interested in cruising and being able to fish. We have five adult kids who will be frequent visitors once we have a boat LOL. We live at the Jersey shore and this would be for bay use only. Any advice you can offer a first timer who knows nothing about boating is greatly appreciated. I viewed the videos on pontoon boats and they were helpful. Love the website!

Hi Barb — welcome to the world of boating! Pontoon boats can offer a lot of comfort in protected waters, and the newer ones perform well, too. Most are constructed for fresh-water use, though, so look into pontoons optimized for salt-water operation. Good hunting.
