Engine Description

The Mercury 9.9hp is lightweight, compact and powerful. At just 83 lbs, it is the lightest 4-stroke in its class, making it an excellent choice for jon boats, skiffs, and inflatables. This twin-cylinder four-stroke delivers smooth, quiet, fuel efficient power with the reliability that Mercury is known for.

Boating is made easier with features such as Mercury's multi-function tiller handle which allows one-handed operation of F-N-R gear shifting, throttle and throttle tension, steering, and stopping. Additionally, the patented auto-ratchet system allows the user to easily adjust tilt and trim angle.

SAE 10W-30 Mercury Four-Stroke Oil (included with new engine purchases) or a premium quality SAE 10W-30 engine oil,
preferably marine grade when available.

NOTE: With four-stroke outboards, oil is added directly to the engine crankcase. Four-stroke outboards use straight gasoline
in the fuel tank (no oil mix). Mercury recommends that engine oil be changed every 100 hours or once yearly, whichever occurs first.
See your owner's manual for detailed information on how to fill and change engine oil.
