2004 Nordic Tugs Nordic Tugs 32
|Propulsion Type||Single Inboard|
Enter Nordic Way through her glass panel door and raising hatch and step down, this gives her a sort of sailboat feeling. Upon entering the cabin, you are immediately greeted by huge luscious windows, plush carpeting, and beautiful golden teak woodwork and classy decor. There is a huge port side L-shaped dinette straight ahead. The table folds down into a cocktail table size or extends for family meals. Across the companion way is the vessel s L-shaped galley with so much storage. There is also a two-burner Force 10 stove/oven combo, a Nova Kool refrigerator, a Gold Star microwave, and a single stainless steel sink. While the saloon is not huge, it is spacious and it appears larger than it really is, thanks to large windows on the sides and aft, as well as the lack of a bulkhead between it and the pilothouse. The pilothouse is three steps up from the galley. The skipper has good visibility all around. The helm provides plenty of room for gauges and electronics, with an overhead area for flush-mounting radios and other equipment. The flat surface between the helm and the large windows provides additional room for larger electronics. Everything is within easy reach for the skipper, and the adjustable helm bench seat has room for two adults and allows for sitting and standing operation of the boat by the captain. A companion bench seat is opposite. Teak doors on both sides of the pilothouse provide the only good access forward, as the saloon is nearly the full width of the boat. Steps down from the pilothouse forward is the main sleeping cabin with a large V-berth and privacy door. In all, this beauty sleeps four adults. There is a large hanging locker and portholes which open for fresh air. Nearby is the vessel s head, which has a marine toilet, shower and sink. Storage cabinets are located across the companionway. Throughout the boat, pleated day/night blinds provide ample privacy throughout. When the chill of winter gets to you, the forced air diesel furnace will warm you and your passengers right up in a jiffy.
A wide and sturdy swim deck is at the stern so that no matter where you are docked, you can easily reach the centerline transom door. The current owners have a dinghy mounted on the stern. You can easily step from the dock over one of the gunnels to come aboard Nordic Way. The stern deck is very large and you can easily open a couple of deck chairs on nice days for your morning coffee enjoyment. Railing attached to the gunnels all around provides extra safety. A storage box offers a large place to tuck away deck decorations or supplies. You enter the cabin from this deck, but a short ladder from this deck takes you to the cabin rooftop plaza. You can have a bistro set up here, or use it for storing a boat, kayaks or coolers. Railing surrounds this entire area for added safety. A boom with manual hoist is on the helm cabin roof. Back on the main level, there are thin side decks that are traversable to reach the bow. The v-berth cabin top makes excellent seating if you are taking family and friends on a day cruise or whale watching expedition. Railing surrounds the bow as well and adds a great design feature and helps nervous passengers feel secure.
Her original and reliable Cummins 6BTA5.9 270 horsepower diesel engine with only 1,568 hours on it nudges Nordic Way through the water. This engine has been nicely warmed up and is ready for most of her life with you. She cruises at 8 knots and 12 knots at 1,400 and 2,100 rpm and fuel usage is an efficient 2.5 gallons per hour at the lower speed and 5.5 gallons per hour at the upper speed. One fuel tank carries a total of 200 gallons of fuel. She has quiet wet heat exchange exhaust that is dry keel cooled and Sea Star steering with Morse electronic controls at the helm. Her Side Power bow thruster makes docking an absolute cinch. Her ground tackle includes a 33-pound Bruce anchor on a Lofrans electric winch with 200 feet of galvanized chain.
