2004 Bayliner 288

Called the 2858 Ciera Command Bridge from 19962002, the

Bayliner 288 Classic Cruiser has the distinction of being one

of the smaller flybridge cruisers built in recent years. The reason

there are so few flybridge boats under 30 feet boats has to do

with stabilitythe combined weight of two or three adults on the

flybridge of any small boat increases rolling and detracts from

stability. With her wide beam and small bridge, however, the 288

Classic offsets this problem to a large extent. For a 28-footer, the

accommodations are impressive. The layout includes a private

midcabin berth below the raised salon settee, a V-berth forward, an

enclosed head and shower aft, and a full galley in the salon. A lower

helm is standard, and large cabin windows and excellent headroom

add considerably to the sense of space.
