2003 Alden 53 Flybridge Motor Yacht
|Category||Motor Yachts, Aft Cabin, Flybridge|
|Propulsion Type||Twin Inboard|
Marie is a classic dual cabin design with the master stateroom aft and the guest stateroom forward, separated by the raised main salon. Stepping aboard from either port or starboard amidships boarding gates, the wide non-skid side decks provide for easy passage around the entire circumference of the yacht which, including the 6 cockpit, greatly facilitates line handling in all docking situations. The large air conditioned flybridge is accessed via a stairway adjacent to the companionway door leading to the main salon.
Entering the main salon from either that aft companionway door, or the starboard door adjacent to the lower helm station, to starboard is a large L-Shaped settee and hi-lo coffee table, with two occasional chairs. To port is the entertainment console with hide-away flat panel TV and associated tuners and stereo equipment.
Going forward four steps down, the fully equipped galley to port is open to the salon above. The guest head with tub/shower is to starboard with the laundry locker just ahead. The private guest stateroom forward features over and under single berths, a hanging locker, and double settee.
The spacious private owners stateroom aft features an island queen bed with linen storage ottoman at the foot of the bed, a corner desk and chair, two hanging lockers, and a chest of drawers with flat panel TV above. The en-suite head has a separate shower stall.
The comfortable main salon features a large leather L-Shaped sofa with hi-low table and two occasional chairs and an ottoman for flexible use of the space. Theres a breakfast bar with a pair of bar stools overlooking the galley. The entertainment systems cabinet conceals a 30 HDTV on a power lift system. The joiner work is lovely satin varnished American Cherry offset with teak and holly floors. Matching wood window blinds and satin drapery complement the rich fabrics of the salon.
|Galley and Laundry|
The efficient U-Shaped galley, four steps down from but open to the salon, has ample counter and storage spaces, with good light and ventilation. The oven looks brand new, as do the stacked washer and dryer.
|Master Stateroom and Head|
The master stateroom, four steps down from the salon, features an island queen bed with night stands on both sides, and a padded top linen storage foot locker at the base. There is a make-up/desk table with chair in the corner, his and hers cedar-lined hanging lockers, numerous draws and cabinets, and a chest of drawers with bookcase and flat panel HDTV above. There is ample fresh air and natural light via the six opening port lights, and at nighttime the indirect lighting sets the cherry wood paneling into a beautiful glow.
The en-suite head is equipped with a Vacu-flush toilet, stainless sink, high-gloss wood countertop, and a separate stall shower.
|Guest Stateroom and Head|
The forward guest stateroom has over and under single beds, a small settee, a hanging locker, an overhead hatch, and two opening port lights with screens. The guest head has a bathtub/shower.
|Flybridge Helm and Electronics|
The fully enclosed air conditioned flybridge features a custom hardtop with powder-coated supports, and Barrett bonded windows that filter up to 98% UV rays. These windows provide glass-clear visibility and quickly open without rolling up. A pair of Pompanette Platinum Series chairs face the helm console and are flanked by two settees and a cocktail table. The flybridge electronics are integrated and redundant with the lower helm.
|Lower Helm and Electronics|
The lower helm, located at the forward starboard end of the salon, has excellent visibility and contains the full array of controls and integrated electronics for navigating the yacht in any weather.
|Engine and Mechanical Details|
The well-lit engine room has easy access via the lifting staircase to the galley. There is ample room to service all systems. There are two fuel tanks with a transfer pump system. Both main engines are equipped with dual Racor fuel filters, and both have mechanical hour meters which agree with the electronic ones at the helm controls.
