- The Bahia 46 is a catamaran which continues to appeal. The proof: search the web, its blogs, opinions, reports, then do the same again in English, German, Spanish...the conclusion quickly stands out: this catamaran, available from 1996 to 2007, is unanimously appreciated by skippers, delivery skippers and crews of all nationalities. Its perhaps not for nothing that the Bahia 46 remained in Fountaine-Pajots catalog for over 10 years, and that 176 examples were sold one of the companys biggest successes. For the R&D department, this 46 represents the quintessence of the cooperation between the architects Joubert/Nivelt and the designer Olivier Flahault! Faithful to the trends of the time, the Bahia adopted rounded lines. Although it retained the coachroof and its extension, and the 'pug-nosed bows, characteristic of the builder, it adopted beamier hulls than the previous models. Yet the 46 remains a catamaran with moderate displacement and is generously canvassed. With a sail area/weight ratio of 11.71m²/tonne, it is well-canvassed and above all displays performance which would put a number of modern production multihulls to shame...
-end of review
After spending many long weekends on Biscayne Bay in Miami and many trips to the Bahamas (50 miles away) it's time to sell our Cat! We had a monohull to start and then we bought this Catamaran, WoW what a difference, once you go Cat you never go back!
This vessel has always been privately owned and has not been in the Charter Fleets. Also, it's not from any of the recently hard hit Hurricane areas in the Caribbean.
We are constantly upgrading our boat with custom features. Some of the more noteworthy are...
Custom Hardtop made precisely for our boat. It is one of kind and it's only 1" thick yet two men can stand on it to tend to the sails or just for the view! ($40K add on)
-Custom Arch that is key to launching our 12' AB Dinghy. The Arch also supports 2 Solar Panels and our Big BBQ on the Port side. ($18K add on)
-Custom Platform - Under the Arch is a Stainless Steel platform for the Dingy to sit on and you to stand. It is positioned on the inside of the hulls. It also provides for extra outside storage.
Below are some of the Specifications and additional details about the boat, if you have any questions please contact me.
