There is a built-in flush-mounted place for everything electronic on Renegade and her helm is full of gadgets, but not too many that you compromise your great view over the bow. Electric windshield wipers on all three windshield panes help keep visibility clear when navigating through chop or inclement weather. Her center center window also has a power vent to assist with defogging. Navigation electronics include a Garmin 225 GPS and plotter, a Furuno 24-mile radar, a Furuno FCV 582L depth sounder, a Raytheon auto pilot, and two VHFs, a Standard and an Icom. Also operated from the dash is Bennett trim tabs with indicators. She has Clarion AM/FM CD stereo system operated from the cabin with flush-mount deck speakers throughout the vessel. When you are at the dock, you can plug this lady into 30 amp shore power for all your electrical needs. While underway, you have a Pro-Sine battery charger, a Pro-Sine 3500W inverter, and newer batteries. If you are very early birds or late night owls, two back deck lights provide enough light to work freely around the cockpit.

Renegade is nicely powered by her two Yanmar 6LY2STE 420 horsepower diesel engines with 4,052 hours on starboard and 900 hours on port. She has a zippy cruising speed of 25 knots at 2,850 rpm and a top speed of 31. When everyone else is puttering to the fishing grounds, you ll already be there with your coffee in one hand and other holding your line in the water. Her two aluminum fuel tanks hold a total of 380 gallons of fuel, so you can travel far and wide to find where the fish are hiding. If you need to set anchor, her ground tackle includes a Delta plow-style anchor hooked on to 320 feet of chain and line and a Lofrans electric winch. Boston Whaler really thought outside the box when they designed the engine access; the entire bridge deck slides aft on tracks. This makes getting at the entire motor compartment incredibly easy, even while the motors are running. Every wire gets clearly labeled, every hose double-clamped, anti-chafe grommets line each wire run through a bulkhead and every piece of equipment you could ever want to reach remains totally accessible. She also has an extremely innovative wet heat exhaust system, the EcoSound exhaust system by Von Widmann Designs. The exhaust is expelled beneath the hull while the boat is on plane and above the waterline at slow or cruising speeds. It remains one of the quietest exhaust systems on the market today and also improves engine performance by reducing engine exhaust back pressure to almost zero. That is pretty awesome.
The maple interior belowdecks seeks a middle ground between the almost-white color of commonly used ash wood and darker teak. You will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of room hidden in the bow of this beauty and her great features and attention to detail. In the bow, a huge queen berth is wide and long enough to comfortably accommodate someone of considerable height. A four-person convertible dinette is aft of the v-berth on port with easy-to-clean plush cushions and several storage cubbies to stow away loose items. At night this can convert into a double berth, perfect for kiddos or a fishing pal. Aft of the dinette and next to the cabin entrance on port is the vessel s VacuFlush electric head with a sink, Corian countertop, storage options, and a shower that also doubles as a hanging closet. To starboard, the galley is both compact and extremely functional. Tucked into the marblesque Corian countertop is a petite sink and a two-burner Euro Kera electric stove. The stovetop has a matching Corian cover to provide extra counter space. A small microwave is nestled into the cabinetry, as well as a large refrigerator with separate top freezer compartment. A pantry cupboard and cubbies for dishes keep this area all buttoned up. A 72-gallon water tank and 16-gallon holding tank and hot pressure water serve both the head and the galley. Heater Craft heating keeps you warm during chilly temperatures. Quality is evident throughout Renegade and especially in her interior. Recessed lighting throughout the cabin and reading lamps strategically placed where they serve you best are one of the many features that Boston Whaler has not overlooked. Storage drawers and compartments are tastefully designed into every available nook and cranny. During the day, four port holes and translucent hatches let in a surprising amount of daylight.
A wide swim deck and starboard side aft transom door make easy work of coming aboard Renegade. Her self-bailing cockpit is simply loaded with features you won t find on other boats. A livewell is built into the transom. Padded gunnels provide some comfort when you are fighting those powerful fish. In the cockpit, aft-facing seats in the forward corners conceal a cooler to port and a freezer to starboard. A full bait prep station with drawers, sink and rigging board is next to the freezer. Numerous rocket launchers and racks in the gunnels offer storage for rods, nets and hooks. If you need to quickly access the bow, the side decks are wide enough you can get there without clambering. The helm area can be fully enclosed by the included canvass. The centerline helm is flanked by mirror-image settees to port and starboard with a seat back at the aft end and generous storage inside. The captain s helm chair is fit for a king, extremely plush and adjustable with arm rests and a high back. It is height adjustable and also has a built-in shock absorber. This package also includes an aluminum davit and electric plugs for Scotty downriggers, as well as a wash down system.
