SVOBODA -  is fine example of a Shannon 38 Ketch and has proven offshore experience with her current owners. The original intent for the 38' was to create a boat on which a couple could comfortabley circumnavigate.  The current owner purchased the boat from Morgan Freeman (the actor) back in 95' in Tortola, BVI. In the spring of 96' she was then sailed up to Quality Yacht Services in Tiverton, Rhode Island and underwent an extensive refit for 13 months.  The owner lived aboard for 7 years and cruised full time, culminating in a year-long circumnavigation of the southern half of the North Atlantic. The boat has been kept at Merri-Mar Yacht Basin since 2003.  She was repowered in 2009 with a YANMAR 4JH4AE with only a 130hrs. The owner has lightly used the boat in the last 2 seasons.  New bottom paint 2017, 2 Full sets of sails and both are in good condition.  Teak needs some attention. The Hull is solid fiberglass and is exceptionally strong. The construction quality is comparable to the highest quality semi-custom yachts built anywhere. She is well found and ready for her next adventure.  The boat is currently on the hard in Newburyport and has been for 2 years now.  She is easy to show so come take a look at this classic Ketch.  Go to specs to view full listing or call today to inquire about this beautiful Shannon 38'.
