|About this boat|
Entering the cabin from the cockpit is a two-step down. Directly to port an upper storage cabinet with shore power and electrical panel below, behind a Plexiglas door. Forward a door opens to the head: a new commode, wash sink and a wet shower tall enough even a 6 person can stand in. Directly across to starboard is the small, yet functional, galley. A coffee maker and toaster on counter, sink, small refrigerator and microwave. For dishes & showers she has a hot water heater. Forward of the galley (replacing the standard lower helm) a long padded bench with storage. On the port side a dinette that seats four, converting to a bed for two children. Running off either shorepower or onboard Onan generator, a Marine AC is ducted in the salon ceiling. Fully forward is a step down V-berth. The cabin carpet is new. Cushions have been recovered. The large side windows have removable screens for a cross breeze, should not use the marine air conditioning. Custom screens designed to allow you to look outside and to block those outside from looking in. Drawers and trim in a light color wood. Removing the lower helm created an open airy cabin.
Accessed by a ladder on the port side of cockpit, the helm has padded bench seating for 3 at the centerline. There is a new Bimini top, new canvas storage cover (shown in photos) and stored inside the large bench seat is new canvas for a cockpit camper top and a new full isinglass helm enclosure. Seated at the helm provides excellent 360 degree visibility. Standard Morse controls. Synchronizer. Electronics include a new Garmin 94 SV (color GPS / sounder with CHIRP side and down vue) and full networking cables have been installed, a newer marine VHF, compass and older Lowrence GPS.
The cockpit fishing area is open with high gunnels. There are no coaming bolsters (removed). Morse controls have been added to starboard side. In gunnel stainless mounted trolling rod holders and stainless mounting for camper top. Along the gunnel evidence of previous rail mountings cleaned and filled (10/15/18) . A full-length fold down seat abuts the transom. Cockpit flooring is two levels with non-skid in very good condition. In deck large hatch openings for easy access to the Onan 4Kw gas generator (aft) and electric mains and each of the Crusader 270 hp engines (forward.) The engines are upgraded with Edelbrock performance carburetors and assumed to produce more than stock 270 HP. They push this board at a 26 kt cruise burning an estimated 0.9mpg. A full transom length Swim platform extends across the entire transom.
Hull is clean and glossy (for a 30 year old boat) and recent bottom paint. Boat sits on the hard with in/out contract. Topside gel coat is worn as expected.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how much boat you can own for under $24,000.

This 1983 Phoenix 29 Convertible has been a freshwater boat until last summer when she came to Florida. Various upgrades and modifications make her both a fast solid offshore fishing platform and a great family weekender. Owner is selling to purchase a larger boat.
Flybridge with new bimini top and new full isinglass helm full enclosure, new bridge cover, new camper cover. New salon carpet. New head. New AC pump. Standup shower. Nice galley with expanded seating and storage. Upgraded electronics. Generator. Deep V with prop pocket design.
Introduced in the late 1970s, the Phoenix 29 Convertible had a long and successful production run being replaced with an all-new 29-foot model until 1988. Over 750 were built, and during that time she earned the respect of many anglers and cruisers for her clean, low-profile styling, large cockpit, and durable construction. Below decks, the strictly business interior of the Phoenix 29 is surprisingly spacious for a boat of her size and type. Theres plenty of elbowroom throughout the cabin, and both the head and galley are conveniently located just inside the salon door. Berths are provided for two adults and two kids. Topside, a bench seat on the small flybridge will seat three. The bi-level cockpit is free of obstructions with plenty of room for serious fishing pursuits. Prop pocketswhich reduce draft requirementsallow her to cruise in some very shallow waters. Several engine choices were offered over the years. This boat has 270 Crusaders (upgraded with Edelbrock carbs) and can cruise at 26Kts burning an estimated 0.9gpm
