BUILT BY RUSSELL MARINE IN MOREHEAD CITY, NC IN 1979, "NINA" IS A JOHN HANNA DESIGN DOUBLE-ENDED GAFF RIGGED SLOOP.  SHE IS A WOOD-PLANKED CUSTOM- BUILT SAILBOAT, BUILT WITH CEDAR ON OAK FRAMES WITH TEAK, MAHOGANY AND PITCH PINE USED THROUGHOUT.  HER MAST AND SPARS ARE SITKA SPRUCE,  HER HULL WAS COMPLETELY REFASTENED IN 2003 AND THE DECKS WERE REFASTENED IN ABOUT 2011.  SHE HAS A FULL LEAD KEEL.

"NINA" IS RIGGED AS A LATE 1700'S SLOOP WITH A FIDED TOP MAST, GAFF MAIN, JIB AND STAYSAIL.  SHE HAS TANBARK SAILS AND HER TOP MAST CAN BE RIGGED FOR A TOPSAIL.  A 16HP BETA MARINE DIESEL WAS INSTALLED IN 2012 WITH A PSS SHAFT SEAL (DRIPLESS).  SHE IS A GOOD, HEAVY SEABOAT AND CAN BE SINGLE HANDED.

HER ACCOMODATIONS PROVIDE SLEEPING FOR THREE, A DROP-LEAF TABLE FOR DINING, A GALLEY WITH A STAINLESS STEEL SINK, A DUAL BURNER KEROSENE STOVE WITH OVEN AND A TOP-LOAD ICE BOX.  SHE HAS PLENTY OF DRAWERS, CABINETS AND LOCKERS FOR STORAGE. FORWARD IN THE CABIN IS THE HEAD COMPARTMENT WHICH HAS A PORTABLE HEAD.  HER ENTIRE CABIN IS FINISHED IN GLOSSY MAHOGANY WITH A TRUE NAUTICAL FEEL.
