1972 Luders 16
A beautiful Luders 16 with a fully restored fiberglass hull and mahogany cockpit, bulkhead, cuddy. and coamings to original Luders design. The best of both worlds. Repair and modifications made by Elk Spar and Boat, Bar Harbor. This boat is a fast Easterly hull # 294. Widely admired as one of the prettiest boats in Padanaram. Former owner, John Dane III, successfully raced her in Pass Christian for decades and was Olympic skipper in Star Class 2008.
Always stored indoors and superbly maintained.
Sails: two mainsails (Doyle and North), 4 jibs (2 Doyle, two North), two spinnakers (1 original Head, 1 brand new Doyle), full cockpit cover.
Equipment: mainsail traveler, adjustable backstay, heavy duty boom vang, spinnaker pole, two pipe berths, custom trailer.
Paint: Hull, Royal Blue awlgrip, Bootstripe White awlgrip, bottom, 8 inches water barrier and Red Micron CSC.
Original owner successfully raced this boat in Pass Christian, MS. Current owner raced his wood Luders NEH in 1960/70s and states that this boat is ready to race on Mount Desert Island.
