This US-1-38 Cougar is Rare Legent in Offshore Performance with superior ride , speed and handling capabilities. This Classic vessel was designed and built by the world famous Cougar Holdings Limited of Hamble England . This Vessel has been in Dealer Inventory as a Demonstrator of Coleman High Performance Marine dba Cougar Powerboats of Florida. In 1990 Cougar Sportboats were built and rigged with American made controls then the boats were Shipped to Mercury Marine Rigging Facility, Lake –X, in Florida for installation of Engines, Drives & Sea Test The current cost for a new Offshore Sport boat in any brand rigged with 700 HP Engines & Speedster Drives sells for around $500,000.00.and up.
The Superior US-1-38 Cougar Offshore boat line was designed and built with race-proven technology in a pleasure boat. The pleasures are many. Full cabin sleeps 4 comfortably or 4 adults and several children. There is a Queen front berth and two side couches designed for a great ride and comfortable sleep. The Cabin has a wet bar and compartment with a shower, sink and toilet. The Cockpit includes Pilot and Co- Pilot seats with drop out bottoms to become stand up bolsters. A unique custom windscreen directs wind over operators heads to avoid beating wind that comes with many sleek sport boats without wind deflection. The Cougar US-1-38 Cockpit has a bench rear seat that accommodates 4 adults comfortably and a large 7’ sunbed for 2 or 3 people or several children. Its Founder Bob Nordskog inspected and tested this US-1-38 in 1989 and stated “ This boat is intended for offshore use as great Blue Water Design. This Cougar is one of the best rigged boats our team has ever laid eyes on. Powerboats test team Leader Bob Teague of Teague Marine agreed. Powerboat Magazine designated this very US-1- 38 Cougar with the Powerboat of the Year “Outstanding Offshore Workmanship” Award

Cougar Marine opened for business in 1969 with cutting edge technology in both mono and multihull powerboat designs for commercial, military, racing and leisure purposes. Cougar evolved into the addition if the US-1 line in early 1980’s including a US-1-46, a US-1-38 and a US-1-33. Unfortunately in 1990- 1991 the boat industry suffered a triple devastating blow due to the war in Kuwait, the US luxury Tax on higher end automobiles, boats & airplanes and the recession that followed in the early 1990’s. In 1996 Cougar went into receivership but rebounded in 2000 and reverted back to custom order boat designs personalized to your specks and design criteria.
