The layout sleeps 6.  Two in the forward Vee Berth cabin; two in the aft Queen Cabin and one on the port settee convertible and one in the starboard settee.   The forward cabin has a seat, hanging locker and a basin for general use.  The aft cabin is usually the owner's cabin, with a large queen type mattress on the centerline.   The head and shower are on the port side.  In 2016 the leather cushions in the salon were replaced.  About 8 years ago, the owner had the forward cabin and the salon re-varnished.

The Galley is a L - shaped and on starboard.  Seafrost Refrigeration *, two basin sink, propane 3 burner stove with oven.  Boat has a microwave and ample storage and counter space for preparations.  Also ample dry storage with cabinets and lockers. 

The Salon has a straight settee to port and a U shaped settee to starboard.  There is a table that will accommodate guests from both settees.  (Currently the table is not mounted due to owner wanting more open space.  It is available).  Carpentry work is quite handsome and there are ports and hatches and a skylight over the Salon.

The Head is to port. It is fiberglass for easy cleaning.   There is a sink with vanity, a head and a Shower Stall with glass doors.  the head was replaced in 2020.

The Nav station on the port side, forward of the head.  Chart table, seat and storage  exist.  Easy layout of instrumentation.   A TV is on board and used as a monitor for "slave" screen for GPS and the Radar.

Hull is Flag Blue and made of a Kevlar-fiberglass laminate, for strength and lightness.  Decks are white fiberglass and have a non-skid pattern molded in. Bow and stern pulpits with double lifelines. Reverse transom with built-in transom steps for easy boarding from the water, (also for safety).  There is a ladder that folds flush with the transom.

Nine hatches, one being a large skylight for great light down below.  Aft cockpit with a large 54" elk leather covered helm wheel, mounted on the binnacle with compass. Good comfortable seating in the cockpit.  The steering quadrant and cables were replaced in 2016.   All sails can be managed from the cockpit.  In 2015 a dodger was added to the cockpit area, with S/S frames.

In 2020 the running lights were replace with LED lights.

Navtec three spreader rig and standing rigging.   Navtec hydraulic backstay adjuster.  Navtec hydraulic boom vang.  Harken Roller-Furling.  Spinnaker gear and pole.  Running backstays, adjustable checkstays.  Triple spreader rig with tapered masthead.  All tracks & cars are Harken.

This Yacht is powered by a Yanmar 30Hp diesel.  Approx 3000 hrs.  Engine has an alternator for charging both engine and house batteries.   Bilge blower.   Manual bilge pump.  2 Automatic bilge pumps - electric.     3 Blade feathering, bronze Max Prop. wirh cutter.

The C&C R XL is the perfect combination of a performance cruiser and yacht club racer.

One would not expect to find an interior on a boat like this, that is so inviting.  Re-varnished interior and the space for living and entertaining exceeds normal.   The galley is large enough to be able to prepare meals.  The head has a separate shower stall.  The nav station has ample room for navigating.  Most importantly, there are 2 large, accommodating cabins, separated, for owners and guests.  Master has a queen berth.   Layout is superb. 
Build is superb and state-of-the-art for its day.  Even today in 2020, because of the fine design, this boat can still bring home the silver for fun racing. 
When cruising, the space in the cockpit and below are surprisingly accommodating. cockpit measures 105"  fore & aft and 70" beam, for sitting space.
