100% Freshwater Hatteras 53 Motoryacht with rebuilt engines!
This is a special 53 Motor Yacht - kept on Lake Michigan since new by all three of her owners and always stored indoors during the winter. Tons of recent maintenance, including full engine-out rebuilds of each main, new generator, new bow thruster, and a new auto pilot. An epoxy barrier coat was done to the bottom in 2010.
The current owners have had her since 2012 and have made the following upgrades:
- Installed new Westerbeke genset (2015)
- Both engines were removed from the boat and rebuilt during the winter of 2019
- Bow thruster installed in the winter of 2020
- New autopilot installed winter of 2020
- New bimini top (2022)
The interior has a custom teak floor, beautiful furniture & fabrics, and an upgraded flat-screen tv in the main salon. Nearly all of the service work since the boat was delivered in 1979 has been completed by Walstrom Marine. Stored indoors and heated every winter since new.
Anegada is quite possibly be one of the nicest Hatteras 53 motor yachts in existence today. She cruises happily at 1800-1900 RPM providing a 14-15 knot cruise.

Main Salon
The main salon features a custom teak floor with high quality furniture and fixtures. There are floor hatches for overhead access to the engines. The centerline helm bench was customized to allow for room for a Samsung flat screen television. Port and starboard pilothouse doors allow for easy access from the helm area.
Galley
The galley is down and has a dinette to starboard. A full size refrigerator/freezer, dual sink with tons of counter space, electric cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave complete a well equipped galley.
Master Stateroom
All the way aft is the master stateroom complete with an en-suite head with stall shower and Vacuflush toilet, centerline queen berth, tons of storage, and a flat screen television.
Forward Stateroom
The forward stateroom has stacked bunks to starboard with storage to port. The head is to port and has a stall shower as well as a Vacuflush toilet. To starboard as you move forward from the galley to the stateroom is a washer and dryer.
Guest Stateroom
Moving down the companionway and aft of the engines is a guest stateroom to port. Twin beds and plenty of storage will ensure your guests are comfortable for an overnight stay.
Guest/Day Head
Just aft of the starboard side engine room is the guest/day head complete with Vacuflush toilet and a stall shower.
Aft Deck
The aft deck has plenty of seating, doors to the side decks, eisenglass enclosure, and sliding windows on the side which allow you to close it up on cold or rainy days, and open it up when the weather permits. Forward and to port is a countertop with bottle rack storage, and drawer refrigerator and freezer. To starboard is the ladder to the flybridge.
Flybridge
The flybridge is accessed via a ladder from the aft deck. There are two captains' chairs at the helm console, and a bench seat forward. Aft is a Nautical Structures dinghy davit and tender bunks.

The lower helm is equipped with the following electronics:

Engines
Both Detroit 8V71 engines were removed during the winter of 2018/2019 for a complete rebuild, and reinstalled in the spring of 2019. The blocks and cranks were each machined, then rebuilt from the bottom up with new components, gaskets, seals, injectors, cylinder kits, cylinder heads, fuel pumps, clutch plates, sea hoses/clamps, and air separators. In addition, the port engine received a new transmission pump.
The rebuilt motors have given the current owners three seasons of trouble free cruising.
