Fort Myers, FLSell a boat like this
Is this your next Home? Cruising Vessel? Both? This amazing 53' Hatteras is capable of both! The 53’ Hatteras Motoryacht is one of the most popular models that the company ever built. You are able to get more boat and a higher construction quality because of the choice of an older vessel
Current owners purchased Liberty in November 0f 2017 and are the third owners and have loved and cared for her throughout their adventures.
The extensive use of teak throughout is certainly a welcome relief from the predominantly fiberglass interiors of more modern vessels. Her interior layout and appointments provide a “home” unlike any newer boat you will see and she has ample room for individual offices while not encroaching on your living space plus, plenty of room for friends and family to gather aboard for fun on the water!
The “Liberty” has twin Detroit Diesel 871s, each has twin turbo chargers. These engines spin 48” wheels (Propellers) which is a ton of power digging into the water to delicately and precisely maneuver her length into the tight quarters of the fuel dock or into a slip that has narrow fairways. Proper use of her props can overcome a multitude of adverse wind and current conditions. The current owners say they never missed side thrusters. Because of these handling characteristics, the current owner couple have been comfortable being the sole crew members maneuvering the Liberty when in port. Cruising speed is 10 knots at 1100 rpm which gives us a combined fuel burn of 9 gallons per hour.
The 1977 Hatteras is a heavy boat which makes it a dream to handle in heavy seas. Current owners have been caught in several squalls with winds gusting to 60 mph. The “Liberty” gave little heed to the adverse conditions.
You will see an upgraded galley with new countertops, a smooth glass cook top, and a new microwave. Carpet was replaced one year ago. Teak has been refinished. Newer front loading washer and drier were added a few months ago. A new bimini top was installed in June. The Liberty also comes with almost all of the original schematics and operator’s manuals of the onboard equipment.
While listed in “good condition”, many experienced boater visitors have commented on the Liberty as in “very good condition.” The Liberty is mechanically sound and reliable. Take her out tomorrow and head for the Keys.
Thinking about the Livaboard Lifestyle? Considering the high price crunch and the limited availability in the real estate market, the Liberty is an affordable alternative to a waterfront home. Imagine, your coffee in the morning will frequently be shared with manatees, dolphins, seagulls, herons and pelicans. Use the included two kayaks to go for an early morning outing or use the inflatable motorized dinghy for a quick run to your favorite fishing spot to have the freshest seafood dinner ever. The Hatteras Brand is legendary in the yachting world as one of the best quality vessels ever made. Teak walls, cabinets and trim. Full power throughout when connected to shore power at dock or via generator when on open water. Sleeps six people in beds. Multiple air-conditioning units keep the Liberty cool when temperatures on the rise. It is on the T-Head of the dock which means you have a full length dock on one side of the boat and open water on the other side. Even if you have no interest in boating, the Liberty is the perfect solution for an affordable home . . . even if you never take her out to sea. Marinas provide power, water and internet to your boat and many provide workout rooms, captain' lounge and an onsite restaurant and bar
