St. Michaels, MDSell a boat like this
Electric Freedom 40
I purchased the boat about 10 years ago after it had sat on the hard for a couple years. Sections of the top side interior had some fire and smoke damage. No structural damage. The original owner who had gotten quite old fell asleep with a candle ( while the boat was on the hard ) and burnt head liner and sad aft sail. For first 2 years I did some repairs to some rot , cleaned up interior. The original diesel had been pulled for replacement when the accident happened. The original Onan generator is in place with 500 hours. I elected to installed the electric motor and a 240 Amp Hour 48 volt system, because I was intrigued with the concept. While the hull was so dry I did a blister job and double barrier coat and boat paint. The masts were pulled, painted and reset into steps. Located a sail ( wrap around configuration from Bacons that had been unused. Sailed it for 2 years with wrap around sail set up. About 6 years ago the masts were pulled and I installed a Tides System sail track and had the new sail cut into half at Bacon with Tide System cars. I have basically using as a day sailer out of St,Michaels and the mid Chesapeake region. The original heat pump components have been removed. The toilet and water was never holistically put back online. Toilet is a Electra San system which I never put back on line. Used a chem toilet , The systems are dry and have been properly winterized but never put back online.
Boat is currently on the hard on Tilghman Island Md. and available for viewing. It will recieve from bottom paint and be put overboard in April. It is available for survey.
