We raised the roof for more living room.
Look at the most exciting new cruising yacht in a decade. The Columbia 39 (LOA 38'7"). World famous Naval Architect Bill Tripp boldly raised her freeboard to make her more spacious above and below decks. This unique design approach also made her drier/safer in any sea. Relax on her wide, uncluttered flush deck. Raising the freeboard also improved her good looking lines. Looking at her majestic profile, accented by her rakish reverse transom, we don't see how she can be resisted.
Enjoy the huge U-shaped galley, a hint of the extra spaciousness belowdecks. The high-freeboard design adds a whopping 132 more cubic feet of livable space. 6'7" headroom throughout the cabin not just under the cabin trunk.
The C39 is made from the C41 mold, with a plug in the transom. It is a BIG boat inside. There were 43 made from 1970 thru 1971.
