The NEW Columbia Custom 30 SprintOver the past year, the Columbia 30 Sprint has proven itself to be a capable distance racer. Owners have excelled in offshore and coastal races, some in excess of 300 nautical miles. The boats have demonstrated their strength, durability and performance in wild ocean conditions and true wind speeds of 40 knots. The Columbia 30 Sprint is a true pocket ocean racer.While many owners enjoy offshore distance racing, most sailing is done one afternoon at a time. Kamikaze was built and modified with nothing else in mind but going fast. There is very little on her that is stock for all hardware, running rigging, and standing rigging has been upgraded to the next level of performance and reliability. Along with all the modification listed below is the use of twin rudders. The owners have found that this really adds stability to the boat and helps to prevent round ups in heavy air.
