Our boat has the MerCruiser 350 MAG MPI, which has more horsepower than any other option and is a good match for this boat. We expect at least 50 mph from a bowrider this size, and the Captiva 226 didn't disappoint, reaching 52 mph at 5,400 rpm.At 3,650 pounds the boat is relatively heavy, but that weight adds stability, and at no time did it feel sluggish. In our rough midafternoon test water we felt as confident at the wheel of the Captiva 226 as we did in boats two or three feet bigger ¿ due in large part to the cavernous cockpit depth that Rinker designs into all of its boats.All of Rinker's interiors are new for 2007. The Captiva 226's interior features open-back seats, padded armrests all around, a built-in cooler under the center stern cushion and a removable trash bin that doubles as a place to stash a bumper guard. Snap-in carpeting and a wind dam are standard.
