Mechanical Equipment:
The McKinna 47 is powered by twin smooth running, reliable, Cummins 370 HP turbo-charged diesels. The twin engines have only 725 hours each. The Hobbs hour meters are located at both helm stations, inside and outside. See photos below. The transmissions are Hurth 800As. Prop shafts are stainless with drip less shaft seals. Engine controls are dual Morse controls at the inside and outside stations. Other mechanical systems include: Hynautics hydraulic steering system, Raycor fuel filter/separators, Onan 8 kw generator in a sound enclosure, two MarineAir HAC systems, Boat Leveler hydraulic trim controls, Maxwell anchor windlass and Brower swiveling dingy crane.

Galley:
There are two ways to enter the boat. One is via the dual sliding glass doors at the cockpit and the other is via the sliding glass door at the inside helm station. The floors and woodwork throughout the boat, saloon, galley, helm, passageway and staterooms is all finely fitted and finished light Maple hardwood. The interior doorways in the stateroom area are all maple hardwood and all have curved overhead arches. The light maple floors and woodwork and many large windows, hatches & ports keep the interior very light and pleasant. The flooring in the saloon and stateroom areas is custom fitted, grey speckled carpeting. The flooring in the galley and helm area is light maple hardwood. The overheads throughout the boat are soft white vinyl with recessed overhead lighting.The saloon and galley are light and airy with six windows on each side, each fitted with adjustable maple hardwood venetian shades. The three front windows also allow lots of light into the galley and allow an unobstructed almost 360 degree view from the saloon, galley and inside helm.The saloon is spacious and comfortable. The boat has two MarineAir HAC (heating & cooling) systems. One serves the saloon & galley and one serves the stateroom area. Built-ins and furniture include a large maple hardwood corner entertainment console, another smaller maple storage unit, an "L"shaped vinyl upholstered settee, a fold out table, an upholstered swiveling rocking chair, two ottoman seats, a built-in Norcold refrigerator/freezer, (one of two, the other being in the galley). Corian countertop shared with the galley, and another storage unit. The maple entertainment console has a large fiddled countertop and contains three large cabinets with doors. The entertainment console center cabinet has sliding doors and accomodates the 27" JVC color television. (The boat is equipped with KVH satellite TV system). The other two cabinets can hold bookshelves or entertainment components. Above the entertainment console is a companion maple hardwood shelf unit.The galley is delightful. It is forward and port in the saloon. It is a "U" shaped galley with maple cabinets & drawers, black Corian countertops, dual stainless sinks, Groco faucet, a Kenyon two burner ceramic cooktop, a Norcold refrigerator/freezer and a GE Sensor combination microwave/convection oven.

Electonics and Navigational Gear:
The inside helm offers protection from the weather if needed and the ability to be with family or guests while underway. The wrap around windows permit excellent light and visibility in any direction, forward, starboard, port and aft. There are three large forward facing windows, twelve side windows (six starboard and six port), and the two large sliding glass doors to the cockpit. The floor is light Maple and the overhead throughout the saloon is soft white vinyl. Note that the Furuno radar and Northstar chart plotter are on the flybridge only not inside. Your choice of electronics can be added inside.Immediately starboard of the helm position is a sliding door permitting one step access to the starboard deck walkway. From the helm position, overhead is an array of four instrument panels. They permit the helmsman at a glance to see and change the status of circuits and breakers, AC & DC meters, fuel and water tank guages and engine guages. Electrical System:
Underway most people prefer to be on the flybridge. The McKinna 47 flybridge is large, allows excellent visibility and is easily and safely reached via the curved stairway and safety handrails leading up to the flybridge from the cockpit. The flybridge offers full electronics and engine controls, a white vinyl upholstered helmsman's seat, two large "L" shaped, white vinyl upholstered settees, (one port and one starboard), a fully enclosed bimini and dodger frame and canvass with large heavy duty isenglass windows. The windows are zippered to allow fully opening the flybrideg enclosure, or closing it for weather protection. Deck and Hull Equipment:
The McKinna 47 is a well designed, quality build, sedan, flybridge yacht with a large saloon, galley, two staterooms, two heads, an open cockpit and large stern swim platform. She is powered by twin Cummins 370 HP turbo-charged diesels and is capable of speeds of up to 20 knots. Fuel consumption is about 3-20 gph per engine, depending on RPM. With 700 gallons of fuel, and no reserve, typical total run times are from about 18 hours at 20 knots, or about 360 nm, to 116 hours at 10 knots, or about 1,160 nm. McKinna 47s were designed by Howard Appollonio as a medium sized fast, cruiser trawler. Her hull and decks are built in solid fiberglass. Her displacement is 37,000 lbs. Her twin shallow V hull form twin Cummins diesels and twin props enable maneuvering and navigation in shallow waters, medium speed long range cruising and faster cruising at speeds up to 20 knots when needed. Other noteworthy design features include wide side decks, sturdy stainless steel stanchions and rails, a wide safe forward deck with ground tackle, windlass, opening hatches, etc. The cockpit and swim platform expand the living area from the flybridge and saloon aft for more outdoor activities, swimming, fishing, dining, cocktails, etc. The cockpit is surrounded by a 30" side walls and transom. A hinged doorway at the transom opens to allow easy access to the extra large swim platform. Overhead, above the cockpit, is an extended flybridge deck which serves two purposes. It is the storage location for the ships dingy and outboard. The dingy is a Boss boats 10 ft, hard, foam filled, (ie not a soft unsinkable dingy), with a Yamaha 25 HP, 4 stroke outboard, and a steering console and controls. It even sports a windshield and a Garmin GPS 162.

McKinna Yachts of Newport Beach, California has been building quality yachts since 1996. McKinna yachts are built in Taiwan by the renowned Lien Hwa Yard. Lien Hwa has 26 years of boat building experience and is well known for a variety of other quality yachts from 40 to 85 feet, including Blue Ocean, Little Harbor, Marine Trader, Tradewinds and Offshore Yachts.The McKinna 47 is a well designed, well built, sedan cruiser with a soft covered flybridge and a protected open cockpit. Her interior offers a spacious saloon, U shaped galley and a welcome inside helm station. Forward and below are two private staterooms and two semi private heads. Her interior is a light and airy with maple hardwood paneling, flooring and built-ins, Corian countertops, many windows, soft vinyl overheads and mostly carpeted floors. She is powered by twin Cummins 6BTA 370 HP turbo charged diesels and can run comfortably at up to 20 knots. She carries 700 gallons of diesel. Fuel consumption varies from 3 GPH per engine at 8-10 knots to 10 GPH per engine at 17-18 knots. Her cruising range at these speeds is therefore about 600 to 1200 nm depending on speed. Typically most cruising is done at slow speeds with higher speeds used as needed. Some equipment highlights include: a large stern swim platform, an Onan 8 kw generator, Automatic fire suppression, Maxwell remote control windlass, hydraulic trim tabs, two independent Marine Air HAC systems, two VacuFlush heads, Northstar DGPS chart plotter, Furuno 24 nm radar, Raymarine autopilot, two Standard Horizon VHF tranceivers, two Norcold refrigerator/freezers, KVH satellite TV antenna, JVC 27" television, two Sony am/fm/cd systems and a multi-station ship's intercom/phone system.
