1997 MERCURY 250hp, 30" shafts, counter rotating. These engines were sold as part of a new package on a large Mako fishing boat, which was used by a private party for fishing and recreation only. They were based on Sanibel Island, FL from 1998 through 2003. Obviously, these engines have been run in salt water. In 2003, the owner decided to bring them to Northeastern, Indiana, specifically Lake Wawasee. They have been run since on Lake Wawasee, which is a 9 x 3 mile fresh water lake. They have been stored and serviced at a professional marina on both Lake Wawasee and Sanibel Island, Florida. This spring, the owner decided to purchase two new motors. Each year the motors were professionally winterized and lower unit oil changed. This year, in addition, two new stators were put on the engines and new injectors on the starboard engine. We have a video showing the engines in a running state when they were removed from the boat and new engines were put on. Despite this history, there are no warranties on these engines and they are sold in an AS IS condition.
