This popular Silverton model was a very good seller during its production run and maintains that popularity today. The engines provide a cruising speed of 17-18 knots, and a top speed of 25-26 knots. Description,: The Silverton 40 Aft Cabin was Silvertons first double cabin design. She was built on a solid fiberglass, modified-V hull, considerable bow flare, and 14 degrees of deadrise at the transom. Her two-stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down, separated from the salon by serving counters. This is a fairly spacious interior for a 40-footer with plenty of natural lighting and a pleasant decor. Both heads are fitted with shower stalls, and the cabin has light oak interior. Theres room for several pieces of deck furniture on the full-width aft deck, and the flybridge is arranged with guest seating aft of the helm. Additional features include a bow pulpit, fairly spacious engine room, and a swim platform.
Accommodations: Step aboard the Silverton by way of the swim platform, then up the port side ladder to the aft deck. The aft deck has a complete enclosure with isinglass and screens which was renewed during 2001. From the aft deck, starboard of centerline, it is down five steps to the cabin area. The 6 4 cabin has clean carpeting throughout all areas with cloth or oak laminate covered panels and / or solid oak. Upholster and drapes all appear in very good condition and the amount of natural lighting is a pleasant surprise. The port side of the cabin has an L shaped convertible settee with a couple of chairs and a large storage area on the starboard side. Centerline forward and down two steps to the port side galley and starboard side U shaped dinette, which converts to sleeping if necessary. Forward of the galley is the guest head with stall shower and electric head. Centerline and forward again to the large V stateroom. Back in the cabin it is centerline and down three steps to the master stateroom with pedestal berth, starboard head with stall shower, vanity sink and electric head. The stateroom has an abundance of storage on the port side, a small amount of storage on the starboard side and an entertainment center forward. Back on the aft deck its up three steps to the flybridge which had a new bimini top and enclosure during 2001. The helm is centerline with full instrumentations and controls within easy reach. The flybridge also has buddy seating on both sides of the helm chair and bench seating across the back of the bridge area. The flybridge will accommodate five to six adults
