Description,: When the Carver 36 Aft Cabin was introduced it was the biggest boat ever built by Carver. Immediately successful, she was built on a dual mode Trawler-style hull, meaning that it could run efficiently and economically at slow 7-8 knot displacement speeds and still plan out when the throttles are fully applied. The interior accommodations are quite roomy for a 36-footer having room to sleep six (two on the dinette) and also seat six in the salon. Outside, the aft deck is large enough for a few chairs, and the bridge is only three steps up with guest seating for four. The sidedecks are wide enough for easy bow access a big plus on any cruiser.
Accommodations:
From the aft deck it is down six steps on the port corner to the swim deck with swim ladder. On the starboard side of the aft deck are two doors that open out for access to the six steps leading to the salon. Port side of the salon has a couch along the rear wall, with one large chair forward on both port and starboard side. Centerline forward and down three steps to the Starboard galley and port dinette. Dinette is large enough to seat four adults and drops for additional sleeping. Forward from the dinette / galley area is the guest head with vanity sink on starboard and electric head with shower drain on the port side. Centerline and forward again to the guest V-berth area. The forward sleeping area is large with lots of room to stretch out for a good nights sleep. V-berth area has lots of cupboards, drawers and a hanging locker for storage. Back in the aft / center portion of the salon it’s down three steps to the master stateroom with queen size pedestal bunk centerline. Bunk is real easy to walk around and still have lots of room for dressers, cupboards and lockers. The master head area is in the forward port corner with vanity sink, tub with shower and electric head. Back on the aft deck it’s up a couple of molded steps centerline to the helm area. Helm is to starboard with a buddy seat to the left of the helm. On the port side of the helm area is a walkway to in-front of the helm for additional seating for four adults. Helm has full instrumentation with all controls within easy reach, including – trim tabs and engine synchronizer.
