Collector boat!

1987/2009 29' Sanger "Alley Cat" Turbine Powered Race Boat.  Capable of exceeding 150 MPH!!

The boat was made by the late Howard Arneson as one of the first two identical turbine boats prior to Howard putting together his world record 44ft Skater which he campaigned in the Bay area. Two identical Alley Cats were assembled side by side using a set of Pratt & Whitney PT-6 Turbines removed from a military hovercraft. This boat went to a member of the Coca Cola family and has been in indoor storage since and the other one went to the owner of Circus Circus where it eventually sat in a field and deteriorated. These vessels were the original beta boats for the Miss Budweiser racing turbines.

In 2009 the boat was stripped down and refinished as it is seen today. The owner has put 10 hours on the boat since I have had it.  It is painted in the theme of Howards Skater that he won a world record with.  The seats have been reupholstered, there is a new bimini, a new cockpit cover (that works extremely well) AND a large (and expensive) full storage cover that works on ether the trailer or a boat lift. This (refinish) was approx $50,000 and the boat has either sat indoors or fully covered on a lift since.

When the boat was refinished the outdrive was sent to Anderson to be rebuilt with the latest updated CV joint setup. The turbine has just been scoped, tested and adjusted with a clean bill of health by a turbine company at the Easton Airport.  This company (Air Repair) is the same company that maintains the turbines on the NASCAR Jets.  The owner is very meticulous with this boat and wanted to make sure the turbine was tight, balanced and safe and that is will run properly on DIESEL FUEL. This mechanical work was approximately $20,000 additional dollars.

The owner does not need to sell.  This boat is his most prized possession - however - he has started a new business venture and would like to raise some capital.  We will entertain all reasonable offers and Off The Hook Yacht Sales will consider any trade.
