SELLER DESCRIPTION

1986 BAYLINER EXPLORER (Major Refit), Extremely popular 38-foot diesel classic cruiser from Bayliner. Over a thousand were manufactured. This design blurs the line between motoryacht and trawler offering expansive room and comfort for its size and incredible fuel efficiency. Truly affordable cruising at 10 knots and over two miles to the gallon leaves plenty of money to play with when you arrive at your destination. Top speed is 17 knots. The vessel was refit approximately 5 years ago. The owner opted for a pair of rebuilt 165 HP Volvo turbo diesels and new in the crate ZF transmissions. All exterior surfaces received new Awlgrip paint. New galley appliances and new Corian countertops were completed 3 years ago. There have been various other upgrades over the past 5 years, as well: New headliner, Rebuilt electric toilets, Set of new engine gages, . New hardwood flooring in the Salon, New marine air units, New 1500 Watt inverter with charger, New Mattresses 08, New bottom paint and zinc s Sept. 08. The vessel was fit with an additional fuel tank for 70 gallons added capacity bringing the total Gallons to 374.

Accomodations:
VESSEL WALKTHROUGH INTERIOR: Upon entering the salon from the cockpit centerline you will first notice how large the entertaining area is. The convertible dinette is situated to the port side and there is a large open area to the starboard side. The lower helm is positioned to the starboard side and forward. There are engine monitoring gauges here; as well as, above at the flybridge. The salon allows for seating for 7 or so adults and converts to a berth for sleeping two. This area has great panoramic views whether standing or seated. On the centerline once again and down two steps the galley is position to starboard. There is a generous size prep area with L-shaped corian countertop, full sized refrigerator/freezer, double sided stainless steel sink, microwave/ convection oven, a separate ice maker and plenty of stowage beneath the counters. Directly positioned to the port across form the galley are the guests quarters. Guests have a double sized bed, hanging locker and private entrance to the amidships head. The guests also have access to an adjoining shower and bathtub - shared with the master.. From the companion way between the galley and the guests quarters moving forward there is a door to port leading to the guest head. Now continuing forward to the master suite through a private door at the bulkhead - the master bed is set on the centerline with good access from port and starboard. The Owners Quarters include an insuite private head to starboard and a hanging locker. To the port there is access to the tub and shower combination. Under the berth there is a dresser. There have been a number of upgrades to the interior of this vessel that you will want to take note of. If you have never had the opportunity to be on a 38 Explorer also named 3888, 3818 and 3870 - you will be really surprised at the use of space, natural lighting and expansive views. The cockpit is very spacious due to the 13â¿¿5â¿¿ beam. The are two in-deck removable hatches in the cockpit giving access to the generator, drive shafts, transmissions and the steering gear. There is plenty for stowage here too. Gaining entry to the engine room is via a separate lockable door set to the starboard side to the aft bulkhead. Side and foredeck access is to port and starboard and up two steps leading to the side decks. The aft bulkhead facing the cockpit has a center salon door entry and to the left of it is the ladder leading to the upper bridge deck.
