1982 Spindrift 43 Center Cockpit Cutter

Major price reduction; $50,000.  Owner is ready to say goodby to Delphini after a number of great years cruising in Central and South America and up the Pacific Coast.  She's a proven passagemaker. Call now to inspect her and make your best offer!

The Spindrift 43 is a robustly built, solid fiberglass medium displacement cutter built for offshore voyaging.  She sports a canoe stern for added buoyancy in a following sea.  She is built to a high standard with much detail and craftsmanship shown throughout.  She is well equipped for cruising offshore and sports a Ford Lehman engine*.  Solid construction, good sailing characteristics, safety and a seakindly motion are hallmarks of the Spindrift 43.

If you've been looking at Mason, Tayana, Pacific Seacraft and other  similar craft, you owe it to yourself to investigate the quality, value and cruising benefits of the Spindrift 43.  Call now for your private showing.

*Note on Ford Lehman Diesel engines.  We've sold a few boats over the years with Ford Lehman diesels and have noted the distinction of these engines over many of the other diesels more commonly found on sailboats.  Based on Ford tractor engines, these marinized powerplants are unusual in that they regularly outlast their more traditional counterparts.  Many small block normally aspirated diesel engines will reach 12,000-13,000 running hours with a "rebuild" often required at about half that amount.  In comparison, Ford Lehman diesels are often just getting broken in at 6,000 hours and are expected to last for 20,000-22,000 hours.  I know of an old Grand Banks that has over 25,000 hours and has never had a rebuild and is still running strong.

The Spindrift 43 companionway leads to the main salon.  The stairs themselves have storage compartments and a very innovative feature in the top step; a steel tank containing the lamp oil for the bronze salon lamp, with dispenser for easy fill.

Forward is the spacious salon with C shaped settee to port and in-line settee to starboard.  The C shaped settee can be converted to a double berth.  There is storage beneath and behind as well as above these settees.  The mast is deck stepped and there is a compression post centered near the dinette table.

Substantial headroom throughout vessel.  Salon has a six inch brass ship's clock, matching baromtere and 8" ships bell.  Fishing rod holders and ample handholds throughtout the vessel.  Main salon settees cushions replaced and new in 2006.

Forward is a doorway with storage to starboard and the guest head to port with H?C pressure water, sink and marine toilet.  And forward is the VIP stateroom with Pullman berth, plenty of storage including a cedar lined hanging locker.  Doors forward give access to the anchor locker.

Aft to port is the top and front loading refrigerator and freezer with storage above including bottle storage.  Aft is the Nav station with full sized chart table with deep storage beneath.  Storage aft and to center houses the electrical panel for 12V DC and 120 V AC power including a Link 20 battery monitor display.

To starboard is a spacious L shaped galley with large double stainless steel sink, H/C Pressure water, stove, oven, microwave and other galley amenities.  There is storage beneath and above the countertop area.

On centerline is a double door to access the engine room.

Aft through the doorway is the Owner's Stateroom with inline queensize berth with custom mattress.  To port is the head with shower area and outside the head and forward is the sink and cabinets for all your storage needs.
