Accomodations:
Stepping aboard this classic we note the aft deck has room to try a line or two fishing for any local delicacies for dinner.Through the large hatch and down the ladder, there is a stand-up lazarette for all supplies needed on your circumnavigation. Back up on deck, through the door into the salon aft port is a complete wet bar, stbd. a desk (or computer) area for records and communication, and forward a large area with settees and chairs for relaxation, cocktails, and tale-swapping. To port, the spiral staircase down leads to the master cabin featuring a laundry area ( at the base of the stairs), center queen bed, head to port, vanity area with large tiled spa-shower to stbd., large TV, and storage everywhere. Back up to the salon, forward to stbd. is the companionway to the dining room featuring a grand custom table and chairs fit for the most elegant occasion or simple island breakfast (your choice). Further we find the galley area to port (fully functional and awaiting your menu for this evening), and full forward is the pilothouse with watch-berth, table, and helm area. Aft is the ladder down to the stand-up engine room, and stbd. the staircase down to the forward cabin area featuring the full width guest cabin with double bed to stbd. and single to port, or, with the slip in panel, this area divides into 2 cabins. And forward is the crews (or grand-kids) cabin with bunks and head.
Galley:
The galley area features a large side-by-side fridge/freezer, four burner stove with oven, large ss sink, coffee maker, disposal, microwave, can opener, and lots of counter and storage space.
Electonics and Navigational Gear:
The electronics package features a 72 mile Raytheon radar, and a 64 mile Furuno radar, hundreds of charts, an indestructable Wood-Freeman auto pilot (with spare aboard),rudder indicators, 1 Icom SSB radio,1VHF radio w/3 handheld units,2 Garmin GPS units, and 1 International Offshore depthsounder.
Electrical System:
The electrical system includes a 30kw 1200rpm generator (just overhauled),a 20kw 1200rpm 3-53DD generator,and a 12kw 1800rpm Yanmar powered generator.Ship's power is 240v with a 12v system for starting power.
Deck and Hull Equipment:
On deck we have the windlass out front,3 heavy anchors, 700 feet of 1/2" anchor chain, heavy ss deck hardware including massive mooring chocks fore and aft, a heavy stern warping windlass, and 2 diesel launches. One is a 15' Bristol Pilot launch with a Yanmar diesel. The other is a 3 year old 18'launch with a Universal Diesel engine (both of these by the way are in like new condition). The 15 footer is launched with a loading boom with 2 204v winches. The 18 footer is launched with radial davits and 2 new 240v winches. Just behind these boats on the upper deck is a curved settee for 8 with new cushions and covers and freshly finished teak decks.
Additional Equipment:
Additionally, this ship is Niad stabilized (having just undergone a $36,000 overhaul including new shafts, bearings, seals, and hydraulics). There are Murphy sight guages on all engines which means oil levels can be checked while underway. The engines are cooled with Fernstrum keel coolers, and there is a fuel ballasting system to keep you on an even keel when launching a boat or with strong beam winds. There is a massive Velcon fuel filtering system which cleans the fuel before it reaches the 1200 gallon day tank. Each engine then has 2 Racor filters plus an engine mounted filter for optimum fuel cleaning. (On the recent trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Ensenada (via Trinidad and Pananma) the Racors never needed changing. There is also a new 600 GPD watermaker and a Westmar bowthruster. Finally, the GM3-53 engine can be connected to the main shaft with chain and 10 to 1 reduction gearing to provide auxillary propulsion. This vessel has a proven range of 17,000 miles at 8 knots, and that includes running the 30kw generator.
Ever dream of exploring the Mediterranean...Hawaii...Australia? This is the boat for you. She's a custom long range trawler built by Knight & Carver in San Diego, and sailed to Singapore by her owner for the teak interior. The owner recently completed extensive structural and mechanical repairs and with a ten thousand gallon fuel capacity (just topped off), a Detroit Diesel 8V71, (with DD 353 auxiliary), two water makers, and three generators, how about summer in Tahiti? RECENT UPDATE!! Owner just docked in Ensenada, Mexico, after a trouble-free 6000 mile "sea-trial" from Ft. Lauderdale on his way to Malaysia. The 300k refit included all systems and interior appointments. He'll deliver her anywhere in the world and will acquaint you with all her systems on an extended sea-trial of your own.
