1977 Thompson Trawler 44

Forty year-old trawler completely renovated both inside and out in 2008.  The spacious salon is surrounded by 12 large windows which make for a bright interior that features an inside helm station and a large built-in seat that also serves as a single bunk.   The forward galley has a large refrigerator/freezer, cooktop stove, microwave, storage cabinets and drawers, and a pedestal table that converts to a double bunk.  The spacious aft cabin includes a queen berth, a large enclosed head, lavatory and shower stall, plenty of drawer and cabinet storage and a hanging locker.

Below the salon, a hatch leads to an engine room with 5'3" headroom.  Housed within is a 1979 Detroit Diesel 130hp inboard engine and 12kW  Onan generator.  Other amenities include air conditioning, bow thruster, electric windlass, Cetrek auto pilot system and Icom GP-360 GPS.  Controls are operable from either inside or upper helm station.

An important aspect of this boat is its seaworthiness/stability/handling.  The hull is in good condition because it was initially sturdily constructed and been maintained with a full renewal 10 years ago and has had regular haul-outs for bottom paint.  The Detroit Diesel motor is powerful, simple and problem-free when properly maintained.  The owner generously estimates the hours at 1356 from trip logs.  Fuel consumption is low and economical.

Lots of recent upgrades and repairs include, two new rear windows, new head pump, new prop, new starter on generator and more.  The bottom was completely stripped and redone with a double coat of epoxy. New bottom paint in late 2016.

She shows very well and is used often.  She is also ready to go on extended cruise immediately.
