1974 MAGNUM Express Sport, This unique boat was designed and built to handle rough ocean conditions with ease. She has a wide beam and has been repowered with Twin Mercruiser 496 Engines providing a comfortable 25 knot cruise. Magnum Marine in Miami, Florida, was founded in about 1966, when Don Aronow built two hulls specifically for the gut-busting offshore circuit. These two designs, with which he launched Magnum Marine, were the Magnum 27 and the Magnum 35 ; both went on to become World Offshore Champions in Open Class racing. First intended as a race boat, and a few were raced as such, this large Magnum has over 6 headroom and enough beam ( 12 ) to accommodate six berths, including also a dinette and full sized head. The Magnum 35 was available in "sport" and "fisherman" version and became the first offshore boat in the world to provide such spacious interiors. 155 Magnum 35 s were built between 1967 and 1974, when this model was stretched to 38 .
