Under sail she combines tremendous stability with powerful performance in a well balanced hull. Solid, hand laid fiberglass hull is white; three full length stringers per side for extra stiffness and strength; 3" high solid bulwarks aroud deck for safety; teak rubbing strake; fiberglass decks overlayed with glued-on teak deck planks(avoids thousands of screw holes and potential leaks); vessel heavily built to Lloyd's specifications with certification placard in lazerette; all ballast internal (no keel bolts to worry about); long fin keel with skeg mounted rudder; keel stepped, heavy duty Procter mast; rugged Mathway steering system( torque tubes and bevel-gear boxes). SELLER DESCRIPTION

1973 MOODY Center Cockpit, Heavily built center cockpit racer/cruiser. Designed by Laurent Giles, hull built by Halmatic to Lloyds standards. This vessel should not be confused with later model 44's, these are by different designers and builders entirely. SUGAREE was designed by the famous Laurent Giles and Partners in England who are well known for their seaworthy cruising and racing designs. SUGAREE was designed, extremly well built, heavily rigged for performance ocean cruising. She has three Atlantic crossings to her credit, two of them with a family of five as owner and crew. Every aspect of her construction and rigging implies an intention to far exceed accepted standards of strength and quality. Under sail she combines tremendous stability with powerful performance in a well balanced hull. She sails superbly in light and heavy conditions. She can be sailed as a sloop or with her double headsail rig. Both Yankee jib and the high clewed 95% working jib work well with the staysail. The inner forestay and running backstays can be stowed out of the way or set up for extra rig security when needed. She is a superb offshore cruising boat and a comfortable coastal cruiser for the owner who wants safety as well as performance. Contact Capt. Terry for a showing 941-748-7600 or 941-504-4530. Brokers we are a 50/50 Company!
