At our docks a waiting for you...."Patience I" offers the perfect blend of comfort and performance. She has had countless upgrades and work completed over the last several years. A true must see to appreciate. The Columbia 40 was designed by Charles E. Morgan, Jr. after his famous Sabre, and ranks as one of the most successful racer-cruisers built. A real yacht designed to go to sea in comfort while giving top performance. Her 1966 Miami-Nassau win in the Southern Ocean Racing Circuit attests to her outstanding performance as does her 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the over-all standings in Class C. Her C.C.A. rating is approximately 26.0.Because of her low weight and a large modern sail plan, the Columbia 40 is a superior light wind performer. In addition the placement of fuel, water tanks, engine and batteries under the water line, all greatly increase her stability. It is that stability, plus a fine entry and heavy displacement, that also make her a top performer in heavy weather. The Columbia 40, a centerboard yacht, is perfect for the shallow waters of South Florida and the Bahamas and offers the perfect blend of draft and performance that allows for shallow draft navigation without sacrificing windward performance.
