Condor is a flat out racing sailboat, not a cruising boat in traditional and contemporary construction. She was constructed in 1968 by C & C for her original owner, Hill Blackett, a well known and very successful racer of the Chicago Yacht Club. Winning the SORC (Southern Ocean Racing Circuit) in 1972 she went on to win two Chicago Mac's in her division during the 70's and 80's. She has always been a special boat, fast and seaworthy and able to match or beat her handicap rating. With an experienced crew, she has won "flags" in five of the last eight years in the Queen's Cup Race, an early cross lake race (Lake Michigan) held in June from Milwaukee to Muskegon. (two first, two seconds and one fourth) New sails have revitalized her racing potential and make "Condor" a potent foe to race against.
