|This is a professional designed and constructed vessel, by a well known Norwegian yard. This vessel is based on the Norwegian vareity of the North Sea trawler and was the inspiration for the "trawler" genre of yachts. This vessel is capable of oceanic cruises.|
|The arrangement a chain locker in the forepeak followed by a head with shower, crew accommodations for four with deck access. This is followed by the master stateroom with head and shower, the battery and electrical compartment with the engine room aft. Aftmost is the guest stateroom accessed from the deck house. the Deck house is aft in the North Sea tradition with galley dining and salon at deck level and a pilot house above.|
|The hull is carvel double planked over 6"x8" laminated oak frames with a reported 5" of Norwegian pitch pine. A single 2 1/2 layer of this material would be considered a standard scantling for this vessel. The outer planking was examined for defects and hammer tested. No substantial defects were found. There have been some planks replaced, these repairs have been done in an expert manner.|
|The vessel is fastened with cut galvanized steel spikes, stainless lags and galvanized rod. Some of these were available for inspection as a result of stabilizer work and through hull fittings. Where driven in undisturbed wood these fastenings were in excellent condition and exhibited no substantial corrosion and no rust. As there were no loose plank or weeping fastenings noted, no withdrawals are considered necessary.|
|The vessel is fitted with a fire hydrant on deck from the service pump. There is an automatic 100 lb CO2 flooding system in the engine room, 3kg Halon 201 automatic extinguisher in the battery compartment and 2 3/4 and 5lb dry chemical extinguishers in all compartments. The fire fighting capacity meets currants standards. |
This vessel suffered an interior fire and was refit in 1992 resulting in updated accommodations and finishes.

With one engine "Maveva" cruises 7.5 knots on 7.5 gph with both engines she cruises 9.5 knots on 15 gphThis vessel has a belt drive system that delivers power from the engines to the drive shaft. Reverse requires hydraulic reversing the pitch of the propeller.
|ELECTRICAL AND NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT|
|Where inspected this ruggedly constructed cruiser was found to be in good condition for her age. She has in general enjoyed a good quality maintenance regime. Her simple layout and mechanical systems with built in redundancy make her ideal for extended cruising in isolated waters. However, she should not be operated in conditions of sheet of skin ice. With the one exception noted above she is recommended for physical hazards of her purpose of pleasure cruising without restrictions.|
