This is an example of the famous Huckins Fairform Flyer hull configuration. Huckins made its reputation as the builder and designer of the best PT boats in World War II. The Huckins PT's were stronger, faster and more seaworthy than any others. The Huckins 40 Fairform Flyer is a direct design evolution from these fast and famous PT Patrol Boats. The Huckins 40's were originally gas powered. This vessel has T/200 hp Cat diesels from 1969. With the current prop configuration top speeds are 18-20 knots. Fuel efficiency is excellent at about 11 gallons per hour at top speed or two miles to the gallon. The ride is superb and she planes off at about 12 knots and is extremely manueverable at all speeds. This is a project boat that requires work and refit. Hull structure is original. Deck and cabin house require soft areas to be addressed and the entire boat needs cosmetic and detail work. Restored Huckins are sought after and have excellent resale value.Contact Rob Lager at 516-767-0141 for further information.
